Glen Grant Distillery
Glen Grant was established in 1840 by Major Grant and produces a gentle, light whisky thanks in part to long slender stills and innovative purifiers. Glen Grant is also known for its landscaped garden. The garden path winds its way to through manicured lawns and flower beds to a wooded area where you will find a cave that used to house the Major’s private barrel of whisky.
Glen Grant has produced a number of notable whiskies. V Decades was crafted by Glen Grant’s Master Distiller, Dennis Malcolm. This expression marks his 50 years working at Glen Grant and is a selection of whiskies from each of the five decades.
Glen Grant is situated in Rothes and is the only distillery with a visitor centre. In close proximity you’ll find Speyburn, Glenrothes and Glen Spey . Rothes is also home to Forsyth’s. They are coppersmiths who manufacture and maintain many of Scotland’s whisky stills.
