GlenAllachie Distillery

GlenAllachie Distillery is a proud independently owned distillery. It operates under capacity to focus on single malt production. Slow fermentation is the order of the day. Production started in 1968 and the distillery uses an innovative gravity fed process to reduce energy usage.

It was designed by William Delmé-Evans. He also designed nearby Macduff Distillery as well as Tullibardine and Jura Distilleries. GlenAllachie Distillery is unusual in that it has two spirit safes, one for each pair of stills.

GlenAllachie produces the Lum Reek blend. This is a peated blended whisky available in three expressions. A non age statement, a 12 year old and a 21 year old. Lum Reek means chimney smell and after New Year in Scotland you might still hear the expression “Lang may your lum reek”. This is a hope that you’ll have a long life! The Lum Reek blend marries the peated whiskies of Islay with those of Speyside including GlenAllachie.

GlenAllachie Distillery Tours and Tastings
