Oban Distillery was founded in 1794 by two brothers, John and Hugh Stevenson. The beautiful coastal town of Oban came later. Oban is actually pronounced Oh-bin and the distillery is one of the smallest in Scotland.
Scotch whisky is matured in oak barrels, of various sizes. The larger the barrels, the less wood contact there is. Oban Little Bay Reserve 43% abv is matured in smaller barrels, meaning higher wood contact with the maturing spirit.

How to get to Oban Distillery
Oban Distillery is centrally loctated and just a few minutes walk from Oban ferry terminal. Oban is a popular place to visit with it’s beautiful bay, restaurants and bars serving seafood. There are widlife trips and ferries to Mull. Oban lies 125 miles from Edinburgh on the west coast of Scotland. It has good bus and train links. What to expect during Covid-19 times
Cragganmore is owned by Diageo. They are implementing a number of precautionary measures which include temperature checks before entering, limiting the number of visitors on site at any one time, increased cleaning procedures and hand sanitiser stations.
