Distilleries offering virtual whisky tastings

More and more distilleries are seeing online whisky tastings and tours as one way of delivering personalised experiences for single malt enthusiasts. There has been some impetus given to online tours and tastings during the pandemic as it’s a way for distilleries to keep in contact with customers. A number of distilleries have conducted whisky tastings as part of virtual online whisky festivals and shows.

The format may vary slightly but essentially you can contact the distillery, book a tasting time and samples will be delivered to your door although this depends on where the distillery ships to.

A tour guide or distillery ambassador will talk you through your drams and hopefully enrich the experience with stories and information about the distillery.

These online whisky tastings are often very good value as groups tend to be limited in number of participants and the whiskies sent out to you often include more expensive, rarer drams. Combine that with the expertise of your host and they are definitely experiences worth considering.
